BET was looking for a new, hip approach to award shows. They wanted a more urban, street culture style. We went with 3d environments for the whole show.
CGI spraycans, particle systems for the aerosol, bumpmapped brick textures on the paint. 3d modeling, animation and rendering in Electric Image.
In 2004 the director asked if I could smash the Award Titles brick walls down, have bricks go flying ointo the stage and reveal the presenters...Sure. No problem.
